Our Strength Training Oncology Group (STRONG) Program is specifically designed for individuals with a cancer diagnosis.
Our male-only and female-only sessions provide a peer-support network, and are based on strong and growing evidence for the role of exercise as an integral part of cancer treatment. This program is available to individuals at any stage of their cancer journey, before, during or after treatment. Our EPs will consider your diagnosis, treatment schedule, side-effects, energy levels, pain, additional health concerns and any other relevant information to develop an individually tailored exercise plan. The goals of this program are to help you maintain or build your physical capacity, combat the side-effects of cancer treatment, and regain control of your own health & wellbeing. After completing an initial consultation and program familiarisation session with our EP, the program consists of 2 x 60min group sessions per week. You may also be provided with a home exercise program to complete independently if you wish.
